Hi I've had a set of mizuno mx19 irons (3-pw) for a good 10 years now and handicap has come down to 12 in that time. I still play well with them but I think it could be time for an upgrade due to all of the new tech now on offer. I'd like to stay with mizuno - any recommendations on what I should be looking at. I'm thinking a change to blades might be a step too far! Alternatively I could stick with my old faithfuls. Thanks

if you are happy with these irons why change.

but if you do i would look at the new range just out the JPX 900.

there is a cast (like your MX19) and two forged models.. i would go for one of these. you may also get a bargain if any shops still have the JPX850.

head to your local Mizuno dealer and give them a try.

Thank you excuse my ignorance between cast and forged and what difference does it make?
Looks like I can get a set of new jpx850s for circa £300.

Forged clubs are softer & allegedly give more "feel" They are also easier to bend, which means the loft & lie angle can be adjusted to fit you. The lie angle is quite important and should be fitted to you for any new clubs you buy. Any pro can do it for around £3 per club. I have to buy forged clubs because I need mine lying 3º flat & cast clubs would be likely to snap!
