Can anyone advise on the history of one to the other? I know the 25,s preceded the 200,s and they both look like game improvement clubs. One a lot cheaper than the other on ebay though!!

MX25 launched around 2006, came before MX200 launched 2008. The Mx200's are more of a progressive set, big cavities on the 4/5/6/7 less so on the 8/9/PW. The MX200's also have y tune technology, so misses off the toe are less impactful.

If you wanted to try some MX200's at a reasonable price, I notice there are a set 5-PW for sale on this forum :D

the mx200 are not cavity back, 8-9-pw

the rest of the set are indeed cavity backed.

lovely irons. plenty of feel on the shorter ones, and enough help on the long irons.

i also own a set of mp52 irons and i wouldnt put them in the bag over the mx200.

without being pedantic they are hardly musclebacks or blades. The 8/9/PW are cavity backs, they just haven't got the deep, under cut cavity of the long iron. Therefore they are a progressive set

oh sorry, not clued up on the terms, shouldnt have posted really.

just meant they dont have a cavity like the 7-3irons but i realise i maybe sounded like i was correcting you.

apologies.

anyways i just feel like you couldnt go wrong with mx200 in good nick nomatter the handicap. they arent too chunky to look at and still provide both workability and help with the 3-4irons.

They are a cracking set of irons you are 100% about that, I may live to regret selling mine.
