Have finally decided to catch up with the modern world and have bought myself a tablet (Android). Be interesting to know what people think are the must have apps, both for golf and for more general use.

So what do you use most and why

Catchup tv. Best free tv app out there, basically free view. Also has the bbc red button channels.

Second this
Facebook and Twitter if you have them, sky go, bbc sport, iplayer, itv player and maybe a few games such as angry birds

V1 golf is terrible. I had a long discussion with them about frame rate reduction, which renders the whole package useless. They justdont get it.

I've also finally succumbed and invested in a Nexus 10 the other day.

And from my limited messing around I'd recommend Flipboard, a superb app for amalgamating facebook and twitter plus all the news and topics you want in one package. Very cool. And although you can get all the vids for free on youtube I'd recommend Mark Crossfield's app for a modest outlay.

Also in no particular order Amazon Kindle app, Accuweather, Tripit, Swype keyboard (makes typing a lot lot easier) and if you need it for any work/document related stuff then Google Drive and QuickOffice Pro.

As for games then Trap, SongPop free and Candy Crush.

Plus try out the google app you get with it that can do cool things like work out how long it will take you to get to work or home from your current location, plus Currents which I like.

Evernote. Difficult to describe what it is really. But it's a cross platform note taking, web clipping, listing, to-do app that is free and you can access it on your phone, tablet and computer.

Zite and Flipboard. Build your own source of internet news from any subject you care to think of. Add in 'Pocket' to save the articles to and it's a winner.

Oh. Almost forgot. Spotify. Music must have.

Games wise. Flick golf is okay for a few minutes of fun and doesn't require the time that TW requires. But I generally get bored with the games quite quickly.

And I would have said the GM digital edition. But from what I can work out it is free if you have a paper subscription (like I do) for the iPad. But if you subscribe to the paper edition you have to pay another £4.99!!!!!! to get the digital edition if you are on Android. That's another £4.99 per magazine, dearer than the paper mag with no printing costs, for something you already subscribe to?

Really?? Are GM saying you have to chose between the paper version and the digital version and if you want both you will have to pay twice. Do GM really expect anyone to pay twice for the same content?:angry::angry::angry:
