anyone hear listen to particular music perhaps before they play or when practising?
For some reason it never really occurred to me even though in every other sport i play it is my pre match routine to listen to music when warming up or on the way there

Or does anyone here think its just distracting and would never touch the radio on the way to the club or when practising?

I've seen others at the driving range with ear buds in, couldn't do i myself I would find it to distracting.

I wonder sometimes what it is they listen to, a Bob Rotella audio book or maybe Chevy Chase tell them to be the ball

"na na na na na na aaaaaaaa"

I occasionally listen to music if I'm playing on my own. It's quite dangerous I suppose, as I would struggle to hear shouts of fore. But I find music very relaxing, provided it's the right kind of music.
It's good for at the range as well, helps you zone out from everyone else who's knocking around.

I have my ipod in before walking to the first tee, normally have, smack my B up, chelsea dagger, anything to relax me.

About the closest I get to listening to music and golf is listening to a CD, in the car, on my way to the course.

I'll then spend the next 3-4 hours humming the last tune I heard

I think its always nice to have a tune stuck in your head for a round..

Saw the young Cat1's practising with ear buds in and tried it once but like above, not for me.

I do like my Amy Whitehouse when driving to the club, used to play Rage Against the Machine but I didn't think it put me in the right frame or mind set.....

Like to practice putting with my ear phones in. Tunes for me at the moment are avici , jay z, bit of oasis jake bugg

I think it was Sam Snead (might be wrong) who listened to a waltz before he played. He said it stayed in his head and he hummed it as he went round. It kept his tempo in good order. You might want to try it through headphones though. Not very cool.

That's where I've been going wrong, Firestarter must be a tad too quick & aggressive ;)

I find a bit of S Club 7 on the iPod for the walk to the 1st tee gets me pumped n ready to unleash hell on the Bridgestone e6.
