Murray tennis spoiler alert

He always puts you through the ringer. Think he needed that really competetive edge, given his form this year.
3 days off to recover now. Here's hoping.

When I read the title I thought he may have been on the brink of going out.......

In other news. World no1 beats world number 30 odd 🙄🙄

Glad Murray has won as it's good for British tennis. But will save the superlatives for when he does something unexpected.

Was on edge of my seat but his saving those set points, breaking back then getting the job done was brilliant. Mark of a top level sportsman.

Chance to relax until Monday.

Heres hoping that he goes out on Monday. 👍

I've tried really hard but I still can't get past that "anyone but England" slur.

Ironic that you support the first manager/team to name a squad without an Englishman......

I struggled to warm to him at first, then saw him on League of their own and changed my mind.

Great player, not one of the all time greats. But great for biritish tennis.

As good as anything we've produced!

Being the greatest Brit of all time doesn't by default enter him into the list of world greats.

No doubt after his retirement he will be heralded each year on the BBC at Wimbledon, but I doubt very much on a would stage he will be a revered as highly Novak, Federer or Nadal.

Still time to add to his tally and legacy. But so far imo his reign as world No1 has been less dominant than any of the greats I mentioned.

Very rare that there have been so many as 4 great players at the same time contending

What's Wenger got to do with this? Frenchman?!

I can't remember him saying anything implying that he dislikes the English.

Pretty sure the point is that you don't like one person as he implied he liked to see England fail. And yet support another who has actively done things that are to the detriment of the England team......

by all means don't like Murray. But don't build your argument for it on quicksand.

Thats just my opinion of how myself and others view your argument.

Quicksand? What Murray said was pretty concrete if you ask me.

It only became a "joke" when he realised afterwards what a PR disaster it was.

The point was your argument is built on quick sand. I'm off to find a brick wall.

My apologies all for bringing footy into tennis thread.

But if one of those four has a significantly less impressive record than the others. Surely it's fair to suggest one isn't quite so great......

But you're only measuring levels of world greatness, but Murray is still one of the world greats imo
