But the Winter Wonderland was nothing to do with The Belfry, they were merely the landlords.

Same as it wasn't your local shopping centre's fault when Woolworths went bust.

I understand the circumstances but all the reports mentioned the Belfry and whilst they would like to distance themselves I'm sure many people will not think beyond the mention of their name.
 
Utterly hideous response from the general manager!!!!

David Edwards, general manager at the hotel told the Mail: “It is business as usual at the Belfry, we had a very successful New Year’s Eve at the hotel."

“There was an incident, police have been on the site this morning and we are co-operating with their enquiries.”


Should be totally embarrassed at trying to sweep such a serious incident under the carpet!

I think Nude-Nights hosted the event, I know they were being heavily advertised for over the festive period along with other top DJ's and bands so it brought in a lot more outside visitors than those staying at the hotel and those that go there more regular, I don't think this will have been a flash incident, known individuals from neighbouring city's go there to throw their money around, I would assume that some rivalry groups ended up in there and it wouldn't have taken much for a spark to ignite it and as the report states, as the police were dealing with 1 incident, a further 5 stabbings took place inside & outside so a group of people were all carrying knives!

Must have been frightening for guests to witness and will have damaged the night club and resorts reputation, you can't paper of the cracks of an incident like this and like the GM is trying to do, badly!

Nude-Nights have released a statement that conflicts heavily with the reporters (Matt Lloyd) events of things!

Is anyone surprised reporters Glam up their stories? , I dont know what the whole truth is behind this one but have been involved in enough pub & night club incidents that when i have read about them later , i was totally different that what actually happened ,,
 
You can see what the Belfry have tried to do..... COVER IT UP.

I heard about the on goings from a local source before the police had even released a statement which is where all of this was bought to light.

Would you not expect them to ? Somewhere between the Belfry's story & the reporters story therein lies the real happenings if not the truth ..

Well its pretty obvious the stories are going to appear in the media at some point. I heard about the incidents a few hours after wards.

I also heard it was over slow play on the Brab.... :whoo:
 
Basically the bel air is a dive of a night club with a very bad reputation. Durring halloween a gun was pulled on a rival gang member and this is how it started . It was said gangs that kicked off again. All people stabbed where brain dead idiots who deserve what they got.
I've never understood why the belfry continues to run the bel air. Its always been a liability to their brand. Although i do have some fond memories of older ladies taking advantage of me when i was in my youth

Whatever they say 5 people were stabbed and thats unacceptable. The place needs to sort out its clientele or shut.
