Well after posting on here for some advice last week, I took it on board in saturdays medal and it seemed to help. Had a net 71 in the rain with a 9 on my card from 2 balls out of bounds at the tenth, but I didn't let it bother me and just got on with it. The advice of its only a hobby and i'm not trying to make a living from it was my main thought. My playing partner said it was like playing with a different person, so roll on the rest of the season and more happy go lucky rounds.

Cheers for all the advice

I had a weird one.

Saturday - Masters medal comp (all of last year's medal winners only) - shot a nightmare 97 - 25 over par - all sorts of horrors inc a baker's dozen lucy lockets - and last place.

Sunday - Winter Singles K/O QuarterFinal - shot 79 - 7 over. All horrors of Saturday nowhere in sight. And I won the match :)

Golf - bluddy hell!!

Similar to SILH!

Saturday struck it nice tee to green, but then chipping and putting cost me loads! Example -> 1st hole (my 8th) Par 5 2nd shot just rolled through the fringe over the back chip of about 12ft literally just had to lift it over the collar, NOPE fluff and 3 putts and a well deserved 6! :temper: The was pretty much the story of the day, 0.1 on the handicap and will probably be playing off 8 when I get to Woodhall Spa! BTW missed an ace on the 17th (my 6th) by 8inches!

Sunday tee to green was about 75-80% (ok but not top of the class) but my short game returned (including a full blown flop shot that Big Phil would've been proud of!) my putter blew hot and cold though and I brought home a better score for Sunday!

We had opening day shotgun start. Teams of 5 (4 gents 1 lady) so it was a loooong round. Think it took around 4.30, 4.45 (normal comp takes about 3.40-3.50) and that was with only a bit of waiting. Simply took that long getting everyone to play. I'd only ever played it as a 3 man team before which seemed to go quite quickly.

5 birdies, par'd the rest and we were nowhere near the prizes.

Hey ho, enjoyable company and some decent food put on afterwards.
