In Feb of this year I moved house and now instead of living 5/10 mins from the club I live 30/35 mins away. My dilemma is I'm starting already to get annoyed at the journey to and from the club. I'm thinking of moving to a club closer that's only 10 mins away from New house and that father in law is member of. Imo I'd say my current club is slightly better. Price wise there would be no difference but for handiness for practising and playing the new club might be better. Anyone had similar problem?

If you've got a young un on the way you'll have less time available. 30 mins each way is the thick end of an hour that could be spent on the course at the new gaff. I say move.

Went through that at beginning of year when I moved Job, went for closer to home, as everyone above says, extra time on course than in car!

You'll wanna be moving clubs then mate although I'd seriously consider whether a membership is warranted cos once the kids come along you'll get "0" free time for golfing, I've got 5 kids and barely have time for a good "bowel movement" let alone do something I wanna do although I will say that most of mine are now self sufficient so there will be "light at the end of the tunnel" sometime in the "umm" let's just say distant future, I hope I haven't put you off kids !...

Lol I wish. With a wee one arriving end of Aug I'll be lucky to play at one!

Same boat as me, I am stuck with playing the 9 holer 5 mins up the road, I can be out, round 18 and back before breakfast.

My plans for joining any club have been put on the back burner until at least next April, the closest decent course being 20 minutes away (but on the way home from work) is a distant goal...

Once the wee one picks up a club though!

Glad that put a smile on your face, my old man always said "5 minutes of fun, 18yrs of hell" just hoping my own personal hell isn't about to kick off all over again as my eldest maid is due with my 1st grandchild next month and I'm only 41 !...
