Mottocaddy Pro series zipper rant

The thread name says it all. Got a new Motocaddy Pro Series cart bag couple of weeks ago. Took it for its first outing today. It was a good day to test it - sun, rain, wind, blobs, pars... After about 3-4 times of getting the waterproofs in and out of the side pocket, the zipper gave way and came off!!!

Since it bought it from the pro shop they said they will send it back and get it replaced... But I must say I m not very impressed with the design. 2 things don't work for me..
1) I generally play with the rain hood rolled down (but still attached to the bag). On the Motocaddy, the rain hood is held by Velcro, so comes off easily on one side. On the other side, the umbrella gets in the way as it is side mounted

2) I can live with the first issue by taking off the rain hood every time (as I noticed my FC do today). What is really annoying is that the 14 way divider on the top only lets 1 club per hole this is great when you are storing away your clubs,but not so great if you want to throw a club into the bag for misbehaving. Taking that club out is difficult and I can see it will start to shred the grip at some point

It may be just how I use my bag, but the moto may not be for me. I m not sure if I can give it back and ask for a refund. I would rather go back to my beloved Ogio again..

On my third now - on the first after two years the cooler zip broke - on the second the valuable zipper broke after two years. Expect a zip will go on current one in a year
 
Have read numerous times about zip issues with this bag. They really need to sort that issue out because otherwise the bags seem to get a good review in general
 
I've had mine 2 years without any problems.

As regards the 14 way divider stop you lob your clubs back in the bag maybe, just maybe you are not supposed too...... :mmm:

ive had mine a year and no problems with zips or the rain hood. in fact i used it for the first time yesterday with no problems.

Looks like those who have had it for a while are alright.... Is it a problem with the new batch/model? I have the 2014 MC Pro series cart bag.. Will check with the pro..

sound to me like you just don't look after it. if you just chuck your clubs in and rip the zips closed they are going to break. like most things if you treat it harshly, its going to break.

Mixed messages..... the zipper is gone from one of the side pockets (that is a quality issue). The club chucking is a different issue (may be a end user training issue rather than quality). though I like a wee bit more space in the dividers so they can take 2 clubs easily

I can get two clubs in each divider no problem, but why would you want that, its got 15 top dividers and you can only use 14 clubs in a comp anyway.

why not get yourself a tour bag? you could then chuck your clubs in from 10 feet away;) On sec thoughts you might not, being an Indian cricket fan;)

Ouch... i think I will let that pass (just like someone standing in the slips)

more than likely but know one cares who wins ODI's.... Test are what counts;)

I bet there were i few fires in India yesterday.... penny for the MSD;)

I agree the Tests are the real deal, so very disappointed. My friend twice had tickets to Day 5 of the games and imagine his disappointment (lol)... MSD still a hero, but massively let down by top order (incl Virat Kohli).

What the self styled super star that can't get it off the cut strip, or past the slips;)

another on like Yuvraj Singh, great in one dayers but just not up to it in tests.

Dhoni batted quite well, but i doubt that would save him getting the blame for the rest of that shower;)
 
Yeah, the Indian team was a bit like my Motocaddy bag... It had all the promise, but gave way during the first game.

(trying to bring this thread back to its course)
