Anyone else see it. The two cops going way above and beyond to help a 91 year old vet get a car sorted to get himself over to Holland for a reunion.

Sadly he died while there but had it not been for the help he got from them then he may not have seen his friends one last time.

Does make the blood boil a little bit when seeing some of the other stories on it.

Yep, I watched it. Was quite shocked to hear he died whilst over there, but happy he managed to make it there. Seemed one of those guys that you could sit and listen to for hours.

It was really touching, renews your faith in human nature, and with him having outlived his family it was good to hear he died among friends.

I love those where they show some drunken 21 year old with no insurance, tax or driving license going on a 2 hour rampage across 3 counties being tailed by police cars and helicopters. And at the end they tell you he got a 6 month ban and a £200 fine.

Yea i saw it mate , nice to see some cops can think outside the uniform and the rule book and use their influence (for use of a better word) to a positive nature , i watch a good few of these cop programmes and find some of the people in it to be on power trips , maybe because of the cameras being there ..
The big thing for me was the respect they showed the man ..

Yeah I saw it. Was great the way the 2 officers helped him out and the respect and admiration shown was first class.

Was sad to see that he died while he was away but, as they didn't say the cause of death, I like to think he got his wish and insurance for that one last jump and went out in style :)

That sort of thing happens more often than you might think but doesn't sell as many newspapers as some other stories.

One of my friends is featuring on the telly at the moment with a 999 series, Scottish based only I think.
He is the winch man on the HMS Gannet Rescue helicopter.

The guy is amazingly brave and modest. When you see the risks he and his crew have to take to save lives it just fills you with admiration.

You tend to only hear the bad things about our police/fire/ambulance/rescue services these days.
Very sad really that a bad story 'sells' better than a good story.
