Hi i am playing in a comp saturday of 36 holes (18 morning ,18 about 1hr later) so no real chance to recharge the lithuim battery , having never played two games in one day , does anybody know how long the battery will last? 18/27 36 ? holes.
or is a case of asking my dad to borrow his battery for a back up ?

By asking this question I'm guessing you have an 18 hole battery?

It will sail through 27 holes, but you will be pushing it for 36. My playing partners trolley will do it, but every now and then it gives up the ghost at 32-34 holes in.

I've used mine for 36 a few times without a problem. I do tend to turn off the power when going down hill etc just in case that saves any energy, and leave it unplugged between rounds of course.

Don't you have to disconnect the wheels from the clutches on Motocaddy's when they're going round without the motor engaged (to prevent damage), or is that a myth?

Don't know about that - getting worried now

Might be worth reading up on deeply discharging Li-ion batteries. Got a vague memory, its an age thing, that deeply discharging an Li battery can significantly reduce its life. Expensive to replace...

I dont think its advisable to run the battery to empty. Lithium batteries have some sort of management system in them so the power will drop of quickly according to the battery care manual.

You could use the trolley with no battery and adjusting the wheels as Ethan suggests for the first round and chuck it in for the second when the fatigue is kicking in? Does your club have the motocaddy rentals? Thats an alternative.

If it the standard Motocaddy Lithium battery you will easily get 36 holes out of it, I have managed 45 from mine and the battery still had charge n it.

my battery is about 4 years old and does 18 holes just about, tried to go around x2 and managed to get 21 holes if i was you charge yours and your dads full, do 18 holes with yours, then after your first 18 holes swap the battery for your dads. That way you will 100% be ok and will not have to worry about it and concentrate on your game not your battery.
