Has anyone heard anything regarding Motocaddy???
I've been trying to purchase 5 items from there website for 3 weeks and everytime i try it tells me they are either out of stock or are on back order (all 5 items, about £850 worth)!!!
I've rung them 3 times over the last 3 weeks and get told they are waiting for stock???? :D

Although i'm not in the golf industry lots of suppliers we deal or have dealt with, that all of a sudden their best selling products become unavailable for any lengthy period of time usually means they are about to go bust!!!!

Does anyone know anything??? Maybe i'll have to go with Powakaddy after all???

Not heard anything. Might be wowrth asking your PGA pro if he knows anything or maybe even seeing if Jezz knows. If you need an alternative Go-Kart is the way to go ;) :p

Tried my pro but he's a Powakaddy dealer and doesn't know what's happening with Motocaddy.
I've also tried to purchase via AG, 118golf, pricebustergolf and none of them have anything in stock....WTF's going on????

Could it just be a mix of the Christmas rush and then the bad weather making restocking a bit slower than normal ? :D

I would guess that sales of Electrics would be slow at this time of year generally due to trolley bans and the like. But if they had good sales pre-christmas, maybe they just havn't caught up yet. Don't forget, hardly anyone keeps any real stock anymore - its all just in time - and if you get a rush on you get caught out.

And if they are made in China, (bet they are), they will be on a 3 month lead time, and with Chinese new year coming up in 3 weeks time, you won't get new stock for ages.

Faldo Fan I see that you're in London. Motocaddy's HQ is just up the M11 near Stansted Airport. Their website encourages customers to:

Drop in any time between 9am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday to wander around our newly built showroom, featuring all current Motocaddy products, where a member of our friendly customer service team will be only too pleased to help with any queries. Why not let us provide a full demonstration, and should you decide to buy anything, why wait, when you can take it home with you today?

If you get chance, might be worth taking them up to see first hand if there any issues?

Directions:

Exit M11 Junction 8 and take Dunmow Road - B1256 (signposted Takeley). When you reach the 'Audi' garage on the right hand side, turn right and follow the road round to the right until you see the Motocaddy sign.

Spoken local pro shop (Motocaddy dealer) and they have just received letter which states

...many thanks for your support last year which helped make it a record year for Motocaddy, with sales growing by 35% from 2008....

It goes on to talk about the free bag offer and that they are absorbing VAT increase.

OK, it doesn't prove anything but might allay your fears!

Update -

I spoke to Motocaddy again yesterday and the lady sheepishly told me that they are built in the far east (as murph said) and the containers have been delayed due to an enforced stop over via rotterdam because of shipping and weather issues.
The re-stock is due today.....allegedly!!!!

As Sam's post states Motocaddy had a record year last year.....it can't help sales having nothing on your shelves for 4 weeks!!!!! If we did that we'd be bankrupt!!!!!

Thanks for all the comments gents. :D

Update on the Update!!!!!

Yesterday (wednesday) Motocaddys website was finally showing stock and taking orders, so i placed my order with standard carriage (2-3 working days). I'm happy to announce it all arrived here this morning less than 24 hours after i placed the order!!! :D :D :D

Colin, go on to AG's website and read the independant reviews!!!
I had my heart set on a Powakaddy freeway 2, i thought it was a really good looking trolley and assumed because it was a little more expensive it must be better.....until i read the reviews!!!!
I also have two golfing partners one has the Motocaddy S3 and the other a Powakaddy freeway 2. The guy with the Motocaddy plays 10 times more than the Powakaddy guy and hasn't had any problems. The Powakaddy guys trolley lasted 4 weeks before it had to go back......and he still hasn't had it back 3 weeks later!!!
That and the reviews made my mind up.....i hope this helps?
