Anyone follow this, (along with Moto 2 and Moto 3) ?
Great bike racing, riders select the tyres, fuel quantity and go out and race.
No pit stops, no radio instructions, loads of overtaking, amazing speed (excess of 200 mph), the occasional spill with thankfully no serious injuries.
Terrific racing from the opening round in Qatar last Sunday, check it out on BT sport, if you like motor sport, I think you’ll appreciate the skills involved.

Followed bike racing since mid 60's and the days of Hailwood and Ago.

As a sporting event Moto GP is far superior to F1, which I also watch, due to the bikes being more evenly matched and it being far easier to create and take an overtaking opportunity .

There is usually no argument in MotoGP that the champion is the best rider rather than just being on the best machine.

On top of this the racing in Moto 2 and especially Moto 3 is unbelievable adding to the excitement of a race day.

The attraction of F1 by comparison is more about the technology and the glamour.

Yes, love MotoGP and all bike racing. Been to Donington to see it live which was fantastic, the noise of the Ducati was something else.

NI for the NW200 also, yet to manage the IOMTT but hopefully get there one day. These guys are a different breed, David Jefferies before his unfortunate accident and death was simply amazing.

We go to watch the British MotoGP every year. I introduced my other half to it and now she's a massive fan. The racing is hard but (mostly) clean and the noise is fantastic. Moto 3 makes you close your eyes at times as they are mainly young guys who rely on slipstreaming for overtaking and seem to have no fear and just don't care! Great to watch.

Andy the TT is something else. Not just the racing which is incredible but the whole atmosphere of the place. If you like bikes you'll love it.

Do it! 👍

I can imagine Gordon, NW200 was excellent but the IOMTT has to be the dugs danglies, especially watching videos of the racing. Would give my right leg for a pillion ride with these guys going flat out.

Believe me I don't think that you would.

Back in the early 80's I used to work on the promotions side for Yamaha at the TT.

One early morning (5.15 a.m.) I borrowed a bike from the Press fleet to try and do a "quick lap" whilst the roads were still quiet

After about 15 miles I rolled it off and headed quietly back to Douglas.

That circuit is just scary and pillion would be even scarier.

Don't watch it religiously but sometimes catch the highlights. These guys are seriously brave. I use to love watching sidecars as a kid. Always fascinated me as to how they got round (being young and not understanding the physics and mechanics of it all)

Nowt scary about it, plenty trust in the skill of these guys. Heart rate might flutter but give me a chance and I'm there.

Was on the back of a side car at the Scottish bike show years ago, fantastic experience.

Not quite the same but I believe if you book to do the Honda Ron Haslam race school you can book to do a lap of Donington of the back of a bike he's riding.

Stone walls, kerbs etc; yeah! nowt scary about it. And that's just going down Bray Hill.

Obviously the top guys know what they are doing but sadly the course has claimed too many of them too.

My family holiday as a kid was to the IOM, Dad was a passenger in sidecar racing. Stupidity to the next level that is, not even being in full control!

The IOM is a special place, lots of fond memories from there including meeting Joey in 1986.

I agree the TT on the Isle of Man is a great experience. The atmosphere is amazing. In truth you don't really see much in the way of racing but the overall occasion is what matters.
That's why I enjoy camping when the British MotoGP is on. It's the overall experience and the fact you can see everything for all three days of the event.

Moto GP is rubbish, no skill.
F1 is better

If only we could get the bikes to be like the cars and call into KwikFit a couple of times each race.

Oh and whilst we were at it we could fit the bikes with a gadget so they can overtake. 😉
