Following on from Liverpoolphil's Wentworth thread, what is the most you have paid for a round/days golf ?

Mine was £125 for the Berkshire but that included lunch, which is normally £30 ish. I did top this at Carnoustie though last October, when paying £120 just for the golf (In the rain, wind, cold :()

Personally think both courses are worth the cost, and I probably object more to paying £50 for a disappointing course, perhaps in bad condition. Foxhills springs to mind.

Paid about £130 iirc for Birkdale last November including lunch. Was worth every penny. Paid about a ton for Muirfield and again that was worth every penny.

£195 @ Royal Lytham. Weather turned on the back 9... didn't enjoy it too much.

Can't remember what I paid at Carnoustie and St Andrews but both were over £100.

Two courses on my to play list, especially Birkdale. What an area for links golf courses.

£275 for a round at Sprowston Manor........when I read that back I feel a bit sick.....haven't entered this year.

Trilby Tour ?

Most for me is a Celebrity Pro Am at Stoke Park - £200

Really have not played enough high end courses but just cannot justify the expense. Most was however much it cost for the GM meet at Hillside. £60 I think.

You can play some top course off peak though Greg. West Hill and Liphook do great summer twilight green fees for £50 and £35 respectively. Other top courses have good winter rates, like Saunton for less than £50 including lunch. Getting the weather right can be a problem though.;)

From the 1st of March it will be £30 to play Woodhall Spa :mmm: haven't really ventured too far...

I've played the Brabazon 5 times and I've only paid for one of them rounds which cost £20.

Fair point, just not that many near here. May have to have a tour of forumers home club's next year

I'm in this camp. Unless it's a weekend away I can't justify it, 300 for a weekend at belfry on brabazon/PGA and a weekend at Celtic manor £250 for 2010/roman road top my list, when you think both included a nights stay and food it's not bad, but over £100 for a single round to me is not happening, that's 10% of my subs

Trilby Tour ?

Yep.....even with all the gear they throw in its still about £250 too much!! :o didn't think much of the course and despite entering the TT for the last 4 years, I'm now done with it. Every venue this year is a Marriott......a couple of good ones, but some decidedly average ones as well.

Playing with a member is a good idea. Now who do we know that is a member of a top club who can't wait to invite us for a game ?

Rick are you there?;)

£50 for Lough Erne but that included buggies so I suppose the most for golf only is 55 euro for Ballyliffin.

Played Sprowston over New Year - tidy course but nothing special.

Trilby Tour was a good idea but grown into something that isn't pleasant and a bit too fond of itself

£225 for a day ticket at Sunningdale

£195 for Kingsbarns

£175 for Valderamma

Ouch
