Most shots you have given away?

Whats the most shots you have given away in match play, or recieved for that matter?


mine was 21 shot in the Volvo match play a couple of years ago when i was off 7.

Guy was down on the draw as being off 14, but turned up with a cert to prove he was off 28.


He was easily 40 yards further on than me and down the middle.

We have a starter and he had heard and seen this going on at the first tee, and was peeing himself laughing

highest i've recieved off 9 was 6

that would be 19 shots not 21

Most I've given away was 19 as well.........lost that one

Won both, unfortun for the 28 handicap guy , his drive down the first was the best shot he hit that day.9 and 8

the 3 handicap was quite funny i beat him 6&5 and he went staight off the course and complained to the handicap sec. not that that did him much good. even off 3/4 i think i still would have won.. played well that day.

The most I've given is 9 and the most received was 9, both times in this years summer knock-out.

I played a 5 H'capper in the final, so that shows a mid and low handicap can get to the final on full difference.

Most i ever gave was 26, tough giving two shots on a few holes. I dont remember having received a bucket load though, Usually knocked out before facing a low handicapper.

Think the most I've given is 3 shots. The most I've been given was 14 in a 4BB match. He was off 2 and I was off 20 at the time.

for me it was 20 - went to the 2nd extra hole.

we had 29 in the singles knockout a couple of years ago - that was settled on the 18th and there was never more than 1 in it all the way round

handicapping can work!

Given away.....22 [17] in the days of 24 handicap limit.
Received .........6 [5]

Bounce game against my then 9 year old daughter for her first 18 hole round with a handicap...32 [24]......easy win for dad.!!

I was level par thru 16 and got beat 3&2
Had to half three hole in oles to half three of the par threes

Most shots I've given away is ten against a man and 14 against a lady player. Won the first quiet comfortably 3&2 but the one against the lady went through 3 extra holes.
Most I've been given was 5 and won it 7&5.

What's you biggest matchplay win in any format?

Biggest for me was on Sunday when my partner and myself won 9&7!

I had to give 22 in our singles ko last year.

Was 4 up after 4 and the poor bloke hadn't got the ball in the air yet.
Eased up (big fault of mine) and ended up winning on the 19th.

Most I've given was 21 in a mixed match. I won 1 up. Most against a man was 17. I was 7 or 8 over gross off of 10 and lost 2&1. The only hole I didn't give him a shot on I birdied...so did he

Played with another Brit in Austria against 2 Austrian collegues (both men) where we halved our joint handicaps so we played off 13 (his 8 & my 18) and our opponents played off (if I remember rightly) 45 (off 44 & 46) handicaps

So we gave them 32 shots !! Still won

In Austria the system is a little different and its a mix of social and better golfers plus use slope of the course to adjust handicaps - we played off our UK handicaps.

Fun day out - nothing too serious.

Most I have given here is 11 as I have just got to 17 handicap for the first time myself so ended up giving my regular partner the extra one on our SI 11 last week.
