Hi All,

First post on here - I have been a lurker for quite a while now and finally thought I would 'get involved'.

Just wondering what everybody's most Rewarding and Satisfying shot is when they play? Basically... what type of shot gets you the most 'hyped' and keeps you coming back for more?

Added a Poll to see the results. Always found this interesting as the people I play with are a variety of skills and ages and there is a mixed opinion.

1) Smashing a long Drive (Mash potato)
2) Long/mid Iron to within 6 feet (Accurate and workable Irons)
3) Delicate Pitch or chip (Feel and control)
4) Holing a testing or long putt (Nerve and Stroke)
5) Recovering from horrendous situation (Punch, flop, creativity)

It's the long iron shot for me , especially under pressure. Hit my best 5 iron for years on Sunday in the winter league. We were one up 2 to play and I had a shot on SI 3, hit it perfectly to 6 feet and we won 2&1. Qualified for the knockout stages now too!!
 
Not so much a single shot - bit I do smile at scabbing it round but still signing for a 72. Especially if your playing partners have striped it but had a cricket score :)
 
For me its playing a nice, floating bunker shot that pitches, grip and finishes close to the hole. For us mere mortals it doesnt happen very often but you, very temporarily, feel like a pro if you manage such a shot!
 
Long/Mid Iron to 6ft for me.. Is there a better feeling in golf than sticking a 4 iron right on to the flag? It's what keeps me coming back..
 
If it were an option I'd chose a stiffed bunker shot just due to it's rarity for me :D

Went with the holed putt option as this ultimately leads to a good score and much happiness...
 
I can't hit long irons but thankfully you included the mid iron shot in the same category. I love that shot, high, longish, hangs in the air and then lands well on the green. Most satisfying for me.
 
In common with many the long/mod iron to 6ft get my vote.

2nd on the list would be holing a testing putt when it mattered - say an 8ft downhill left to right breaking putt on slick greens to stay in the match. I love hearing 'great putt' mumbled through gritted teeth :D
