Ms Kirkwood has just informed me that another batch of snow is coming in Thursday night and all day Friday. Couple with that the sub-zero temperatures and there's not going to be much golf played for a couple of weeks - deep joy!

Already getting withdrawl symptoms and it's less than a week since I last played!

HID and The Boy are off Ooop North again Sunday (weather permitting) and my week Home Alone, playing loadsa golf looks like a non-starter.

AARRGGHH!!!!

Yep - you wait till this time next week!!!

Ours was closed for about 4 weeks last 2 years and that was torture..........

Thing is, historically, we don't get much snow around here and yet the last 3 years....!
Bloody Weather.

I haven't swung a club for two weeks now and it's doing my head in. If its not covered in snow, the course is going to be frozen by the looks of it. Monthly stableford on Sunday not looking promising.

All the courses around me are closed...including the driving range where I teach :(
I guess there will be lots of indoor putting practice going on around the country. :D

Roll on spring

The range will be seeing a lot of time over the next couple of weeks, which is great, but at £5 a time is starting to get expensive!!!

Bob, which range was closed? Not sure how a range can't be open even in bad weather. Have you had that much snow up in The Shire?

£5 - flipping eck. A quid here for 30 balls and usually hit 2 baskets!

They can't collect the balls when the snow is on the ground so ours stay open until they run out.

the more i watch the weather, the more im glad i played on wednesday.

Sundays game was cancelled due to 4-5 inches over saturday night, the most local range is now closed as they have run iout of balls and cant get out onto the range to collect them, its been trying to snow again for about the last 4 hours, and by the looks of it its due again fri/sat/sun.

Think im just going to write feb off for competitive golf and catch up on some socialising,.

:(

Hopefully my new club's brand new range will be cheaper or be of better quality once it's opened (though the one I use now is pretty good) but I would pay extra for true strike mats! Fingers crossed.

Wow thanks for the very exciting and insightful weather report Imurg. Not boring at all ;);)

What about the following week?... I'm all ears with these high intensity golfing stories

I'd comment but I'd need to be a qualified weather man apparently :D

;););)
