Some pics related to the below

Found an old Mizuno driver in the father in-laws cupboard, took it down the range for a bash. Bloody hell was it hard to control......... I reckon only 4 out of 10 shots went straight, and of those 4, only 3 went over 200 yds. The rest were spraying all over the shop, anything between 140 and 180 yds...... In the end, I had to hit it with a really closed face to get any kind of straightness, but getting any height was nigh on impossible.

In a few of the threads on here regarding street golf shoes, I know many dislike them in favour of a nice pair of Footjoys, or some such.....Well over here, even Footjoy have succumbed with the FJ Streetshoe....... not a fan of these ones.......

Not sure how I`m going to bring it back, but I couln`t resist that Honma wedge for just under 50 quid down in the second hand bin. Needs a new grip, otherwise immaculate.

Couple more days at the range whilst looking forward to playing a round with an old friend next week.

I saw the footjoy street shoe in Portugal. The problem with it for me was it had a rubber toe cap, like an old pair of Dunlop green flash. This made it look like a plimsole, and I am pretty sure I would not be allowed to wear them in our club house.

The Ashworth ones look better.

I bought a pair of black Ecco street shoes. I have had a few comments made so far, but I have only worn them on course in Portugal, and in the club house here. Not sure they would appreciate me wearing them off the course into the club house, however clean they were.

I like the idea of them though. Taking only one pair of shoes on holiday has it's appeal. I can wear them to the airport, in the hotel, and on the golf course. Makes packing easy.

Honma is not my thing. Over priced, and a bit naff. Especially the gold stuff. Is yours gold?

no, the Honma is steel, regular, not flashy. Usually overpriced but the fee I paid was good value for the condition of the club. I tried it out in the pratice nets in the shop and it felt great, left some lovely ball skin in the middle of the face on each shot......maybe gonna cost e\me a fortune in new balls....

The Footjoy Streets look like Converse canvas shoes but less appealing....

i had to rent clubs when i played allerton in liverpool last week. they gave a driver that was even older than the one you had. it made the golf a real challenge. i was all over the place off the tee. would like to have at least hit 20 at the range to work out ball position or just how to hit the thing. i hit one good drive all day. the rest were daisy cutters at best. it kind of took the enjoyment out of it for me. ened up trying the 11 wood they gave me. that worked out like a 9 iron so took the 6 iron and laid up to the last 6 or so holes. its a short course so it wasnt too bad but i would at least liked to have had a driver from my era.

lesson learnt - im *** at golf and have respect for the oldies who can use those drivers.

Hmm did I miss the pics before, nice set, thanks.... very interesting.

Maybe it's an optical illusion but do you need a low ball flight on the 3rd floor - doesn't look much room under the net
