Saw some pics on interweb last night for new Cobra drivers (F6 and F6+) coming hot on the heels of the King Ltd and not that long from the three Fly series of drivers, it seems Callaway has a pretender to the crown of fast relaxing drivers. TM's crown for this appears long gone with only one release a year (unless they plan an aeroburner replacement soon)

Pics to follow, assuming GM allow them (or you can search them yourself)

Cool, should bring the cost of the FlyZ down to clearance prices then (I suspect they'll bottom around £149.99) and perfect time to snap one up

See that yesterday , seems puma, Nike and adidas believe in one release per vat return!

It's great for the bargain hunters
Ping will also be releasing a new product on a yearly basis as well

Titleist will be looking to do it with the Pro V but expect the clubs to stay at the 24 month cycle

Im off for a fitting soon, just waiting for the King Limited to land on October 5. Never been interested in Cobra but their drivers are a bit good at the moment.

not sure where you heard that from Phil but think you have been misled or info lost a bit in translation

PING and Titleist will of course release new products every year but all the conversations I have had with both brands would suggest they remain committed to 2 yr cycles (give or take the odd month) as they don't believe they can make tangible improvements any quicker than that.

Titleist 918 hybrids are a bit of an exception but only so they can bring hybrid launch in line with irons (new 716) as feel they are more relevant to being fitted with irons (based on gapping) than with fairways and drivers

I've not had a chance to try them but based on the pics I've seen the f6+ looks like a logical evolution of the Fly-Z+ with a greater degree of adjustability for the fitter. So rather than the option of two positions front and back I'm guessing they can adjust to six positions hence the name.

I think Cobra are really setting themselves apart from everyone else. I'm definitely going to be trying the new King Ltd :)

Some really good stuff coming out at the moment. Never been a big Cobra fan though. No idea why as the gear is clearly good. Just a brand I tend to ignore (my own mistake). Might change that with the big fella with the beard on the horizon (three months today don't you know)

i personally don't see any reason why a new model had to be launched in order to get gapping right? Will so many options and so much adjustability on the 929/913/915 h/hd models why was H1 & h2 needed.

Yes there are deferent launch models, but this could be done with weighting changes on the previous models

I don't understand why people get so upset about new golf club releases? I think it's great. Manufacturers are constantly pushing each other to innovate which is great. If you can't afford the newer model don't buy it. It's the same as cars. If you can't afford a new model off the forecourt or don't fancy the depreciation just buy an older version or second hand club. What's the problem?

I really think Cobra are onto something really exciting here. The Mizuno introduction of boron seems to be forcing other manufacturers to be more savvy with tungsten placement. And the Adams speedslot has changed the nature of hybrids and woods.

Spot on mate

I'm a self confessed TM fanboy and love trying the new stuff but don't feel obliged to buy the new driver or irons when they come out

I'm loving the look of the new M1 so will try it and if I like it will purchase it

Same with the new Titliest Irons - always looking for something to improve what I have - if I can't find that then I just don't bother buying it

I totally agree. No one is forcing you to shell out what is usually a big chunk of cash on the latest releases but if you are in the market for an upgrade (or even new to the game) then surely these releases are a good thing

I totally agree Tiger - not everybody is going to rush out and buy the latest offering. It's all about choice, when the new slider range came out I didn't really like the look of them and thought , not for me.
But I certainly like the look of the M1 and can't wait to try one.
That doesn't mean that I will buy one though, it really depends on how forgiving and what dispersion I can get. Which for me is more important than distance.
I'm also a great believer in perseverance where golf clubs are concerned - a quick look at my sig.shows that I haven't changed my driver for at least 6 years, so wont hesitate if it suits what I'm looking for.

You might want to consider trying the new King Ltd when it's released. Based on the science it should be the lowest spinning and forgiving driver ever made :) Happy testing
