AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Played the Sunday Optional medal today and was 4 over with 4 to play with plenty of scope for a serious cut, only struck one really bad shot in the last 4 holes (OB at the last and believe me it has to be a bad shot to go OB at the last, there's a fairway between between me and the out of bounds). Still I managed to finish double, double, par, double and ended up one over in the buffer zone. I suppose I should be happy I never went up 0.1.

I should have finished at worst 2 over for the last four and I mean WORST. These holes are not the hardest on the course and I was playing quite well.

Anyone else had a monumental collapse? :D

Was +7 in one medal and went 6,6,6 (double triple bogey) and the very next week was only +5 and had the same finish. It happens. Enjoy the good shots to get you into the position to start with and don't let it bother you

Ah the old 'I blew up' card getting played when really it should read 'I am a bandit and I was protecting my handicap so I can capture a worthwhile event'. ;)

Dodger - NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Never mention the 'B' word on here......... :D

Why does everyone - anyone? - think that a couple of doubles counts as a blow up? Double figures for a hole is a blow up. Two or three triples is a blow up. Doubles is just normal - at least for some of us .

I will tell you about a blow up that happened yesterday by one of the fellas I play regularly with, he's a 10 h/c who last year won a board comp on the 2010. I think it will become legend.

Picture the scene, The Montgomerie course, the par 4 tenth, 421yds (s.i. 6) is a downhill dogleg left with a pond in front of the green, he walked of the green with a score of

22.

He followed this with a 9 on the par 4 twelth and a 12 on the par 4 eighteenth.

He signed for a gross score of 114 :o although the pc we input our scores to wouldn't accept 22, the highest it would take was 19 so his score on the results page is 111.

I take my hat off to him because he didn't N/R.

When I was 15 I was -4 gross after 14 holes with the 'easier' finishing holes coming up. Ended up 3 over I think and never really got over it. Stopped playing properly for a few years.
Blown up a good few times since then but usually It's earlier and I've never even get close to -4! :D

I was playing JustOneUK a couple of months ago at Copthorne. Came out of the traps like a whippet and stood on the 6th tee one under gross. My best ever start.
And then the gamesmanship started......

Take it all back, my finish was just a blip. Now that was a blow up!!
