Stood at the 16th tee yesterday when Monty showed what a joy he must be to work with.

Monty:...reach the bunker on the right
Caddie: Yes you will
Monty: No, No, listen. I said how far to reach the bunker on the right
Caddie: 266 (and under breath) and you'll still reach it

Cue delightful Monty scowl. You've just gotta love a bit of pantomine Monty.

One from last weekend at Loch Lomond...

Poulter:whats the carry here?
Caddy:287 to fly trap 289 green so likely you be better laying up to wedge.
poulter:I can make that.
Caddy:no you wont it is into.
Poulter after taking the driver out bag chucks it at caddy and takes iron out and gets over ball: No I can f##kin make that.
Caddy: Ian you cant.
Poulter then lobs iron at caddy and takes out driver and hits it into the shite on the right cos he swung himself out his shoes....as balls in air:You should have told me to lay up,that's f##kin [****]!

What a tool.

Rumour has it they had to remove all the mirrors from Montys houses, he was spending to much time argueing with himself. The man is an idiot he should not be Ryder cup captain and I am glad he has not won a major and hope he never does.

Doesn't bode well for the RC I'm afraid. I think you have to take the player/caddy relationship with a pinch of salt as apart from the odd snippets you don't know really how much help the caddy has been elsewhere.

That said I'd hate to be a caddy for Monty or Poulter and be the blame for every poor shot. You don't really have a right of reply and it must wear you down even as a seasoned caddy to have your own skill questioned all the time

I would think that the caddys would know what they're on when they sign up with the likes of Monty & Poulter and adjust their percentages accordingly.

Then again some people will pay heavily to indulge their taste for SM.
