1/ Mizuno JPX 825 Hybrid..Have struggled for a while to find a hybrid club I could feel comfortable with. This gives a penetrating but high ball flight and has increased my confidence with long shots from the semi rough. Fits in well with my Mizuno JPX800 irons with a Regular light shaft to match.
2/ Ping Scottsdale TR..I won this as a prize in an online competition. Replaced my Ping Karsten in the bag. Love the feel off the face. Helped my putting stats for the 2nd half of the season.
Bought two better quality hybrids and swapped out two cheapo ones I'd had in the bag for a few years. Confidence with these Cobras is unbelievable and now my driver/fairways/hybrids are all Cobra!
Somehow also managed to pick up an old Odyssey 330 putter for a tenner (some eBayers just don't know what they've got ).
Those are the clubs that have settled in my bag - I've bought loads more off the bay but they were not so successful.
In - Callaway Big Bertha 460 driver - not a new club to me but the last four months are first time I've hit a driver on a regular basis ever - it was just for decoration before that.
In - Taylor Made RBZ stage 2 five wood - rented RBZ's when on holiday in the Algarve in September and this was the 'go to club' for me - loved it and bought one when I got home. Doesn't get hit much as I'm hitting my irons better since I started having lessons.
Out - Forgan 15 degree hybrid - not real reason it's out of the bag at the moment - will probably make a return at some point.
I'm not someone who changes clubs on a whim so these are quite big changes for me - having said that there's a chance that pretty much the whole bag could change in 2014 - I fancy a custom fitting for a set of Ping irons, but that can wait until my swing changes have been completed and settled in.
Changed the driver and hybrid, with the driver I keep switching between 3 although the G20 seems to have taken root, switched to a RBZ rescue, really happy with that and in fact about to buy a no 4 one 2, thanks to £100 going on my pro-shop account via the Christmas raffle.
It's all the woods for me and made money on my old ones too! G15 driver now a bargain K15 (steal at £50) and my G20 fairway woods replaced with Callaway Big Bertha Fusions (all less than £30 each!). I love them all equally and hit them all considerably better than their counterparts. Guess it goes to show that newer isn't always better
Actually just lost time, every single club in my bag is under 12 months old. Most recent are a ping i20 5 wood for a secondary tee and par 5's. This club is truly amazing, it goes for miles and I can't hit it off line!!! Second new one is my yes! I4 tech Callie putter, after a putting lesson with David howell the nice folks at Adams felt sorry for me that my old TM putter was not right for me, so they gave me a new one!!
Just bought a new carry bag too, but you didn't ask that!
I put 8-10. In the past month I bought a used set of Callaway XHP irons. Added a new R1 as well.
Pleased with the irons but I knew more or less what I getting as I had a test earlier in the year. The R1 is going OK but I don't like the noise it makes!
Needed/wanted change - too much spin with Cobra driver & hybrid and had been using Ping i3 irons since 2001 and then aded Vokey wedges about 4-5 years back. But last 2-3 years not playing enough so decided in summer to get serious again, and with that went down the buys new clubs to keep me focused on getting ROI. So now have line up listed below. MB irons as the pro said they would be a good incentivising game improver to keep me working ....
12 for me!
new driver, hybrid (in process), currently using my ap2 irons as im playing better with them than mizzys, and my wedges to cleveland as I wanted a settled set of wedges and find im getting better results.
I had changed the 3 wood in dec 2012 lol and I love my putter
