Turnberry as it represents two firsts for me - first open I saw was 1994 and first Open venue I played (it was a long was to go for 1 photo but we had to at least pose on the championship tee on the 9th!) and we were treated like royalty for the weekend we were there!

Personally I think Linx courses are dull and all a bit the same.... ( taking cover behind the couch right now..) I respect them and of course dont wont to upset the purist in me but come on guys cant we try something else? There's plenty of stunning golf in land courses in this country well set up to handle THE major.. Isnt it time for a change? :p

wash your mouth out !!:D

Links golf is awesome !!! Re other courses I'm not sure there are any decent inland courses that would be long enough. All of the old heathland, except Wentworth, are too short.

I voted RSG, I've been there, I know the area, it feel comfortable

St Georges. I've not played at any of them, but have seen St Andrews and I can imagine playing there. I have also seen St George's, and I can hardly imagine being good enough to construct a decent score round it.

RSG, purely because it's the most accessible for me. Been to three Opens there (85, 03 & 11), have played it a couple of times and will do again next month. Very good lunch too! I understand its the least favored by the pros though. They don't like that you can get a bad result for a good shot.

Muirfield. It's recognised by the majority of the Pros as being the best Course on the the Open circuit and being purely selfish, ----------- it's only 40 minutes away for me.

Turnberry for me.

Iconic lighthouse, amazing views, Ailsa Craig, The Duel in the Sun, Norman's 63 in the wind and rain, Price's eagle putt, Tom just missing out aged 59.

I am with you on this one Mike links courses lack colour making them a bit drab in looks BUT I have come to enjoy the challenge playing links golf.

I voted RSG as I marshalled there and it was my first visit to watch the pros play

Went with Turnberry. Think it has everything you want from an oen course including the iconic views. St Andrews is the home of golf but not sure the course is the best (by a long way) on the rota
