Has anybody got one of these or ever used one to good effect? Our pro has one in the shop but I have never seen anybody take it onto the range.

They have a yellow shaft and are extremely heavy. They also have a preformed grip for your hands.

Just wondered if they worked.

And what is it supposed to do for you? If its warming up and building swing muscle you can add a weight to an old club or swing 2 clubs together.

Guilty, bought one maybe 10 years ago, did stick at the recommended exercises but I can't say if it helped at all, the moulded grip at least gets your mitts in the correct place.
Sold it on fleabay less than a year later.
As a warm up aid its not good as its too short to swish and stay balanced, speed stik is a much more useful item for that imo.

Only worth considering if its really cheap. Has some effect in warming you up a little quicker and a little in aiding tempo, but I didn't get too much benefit from it.

I have one

Pinched it of my step dad a year or two ago.

Mainly use it to stretch off before an round.

Its pretty effective tbh, you can hear the creaks and moans from my back and shoulders for miles around.

Not used it as a practice aid though

Have one myself, got recommended by a friend.

Not used it for a while but always found it really good and used to take it to the range, three swings with the trainer one with a normal club, you then find the normal club really light and can add more power to the swing it also helps cut out an out to in swing due to the weight.

Gad! I'm pleased I sold mine a couple of years ago!

It does the trick. The thing weighs a ton

I quite look forward to the pain in the morning, its addictive.

Similar to pulling the hairs out your nose with the wifes tweezers. It hurts but you just cant stop.......

:D

Pretty sure I have one somewhere but never used it as it should be used on account of not being strong enough to swing it :D a few swings on the range before hitting a ball makes your normal club feel really light which is kind of a nice feeling but I have no idea of it is of any benefit.

After reading this the other night I had a look at the reviews online.
As it seems to help with swing path and mine is out to in I looked into it further.
Other than the usual "didn't do anything for me" replies I noticed that most of them complained about it being a short club which I didn't like the sound of.
As I had to reshaft one of my wedges I took one of my old 7 irons and made the hole in the top of the grip bigger then filled it with a mixture of lead shot and sand. Bearing in mind I have had a swing of one before so know what it should feel like I decided it still felt a bit light on the club head so added 2 oz of weight to the back of the club head.
It felt good and I could really feel it dropping the club into a better position on the downswing giving me a nice in to out path.
After about 20 gentle swings with it I took some old balls out into the field next to my house and proceeded to hit 4 lovely shots exactly on target. It also help me get a nice tempo and weight transfer from right to left. When I go out for practice rounds on my own it will be going in the bag for a few swings before each shot and see how it goes. I can also feel it working the muscle groups needed for golf and I think it will help with core strength too over time.
Don't waste your money on an expensive piece of kit that might not suit you and make your own. Follow the same instructions as they have online and you won't do yourself an injury. Hoping it's nice when I get in from work tomorrow for a practice session with the HM momentus in the bag.
I'll report back how it goes over the next few weeks.

Did you ever get your hands on one of these?

Spotted one in a pro shop the other day. Really like the feel of it for doing slow motion swings.

The pro wouldn't entertain the idea of selling it to me. He said he uses it for lessons. We never got as far as discussing a price. Lol

Anyone got one they want to get rid of?
