I've known about Moe for a long time. He boggles the mind. Trevino often said he was the best ball striker there ever was (Hogan included). And Trevino wasn't to shabby, himself.

When you hear about the guy's achievements you just have to wonder if his "unconventional" character was just too much for the media to bear. He wasn't exactly a media man's dream and surely this is the only reason he isn't accorded universal godlike status amongst the wider golfing community.

That is fascinating. I must admit I have never herd of him and when I saw his address position I thought this was a wind up, however that video is brilliant- unbelievable how it seems to be so effective. I don't think I will be trying it though.

I recently read a piece about Moe Norman in a book I reviewed for GM. There is no doubting his talent nor his low threshold of boredom. A couple of incidents were related which stuck with me.

The first was when leading (almost inevitably) a Canadian Tour match and needing a par on the last to make it impossible for him to be beaten, he deliberately hit his putt of the green to 'make it more interesting for the gallery'; he holed out for his par anyway.

The other, again in competition, he asked what he needed for a hole and was told, driver and wedge, so he hit the wedge off the tee and the driver off the fairway to the green and holed out for a birdie.

I've read a bit about him and after watching him swing I think the only current guy who swings anything like him is M A Jimenez.

Read the links above and found them really interesting.

Crazy guy. Love the storey about the bunker. Wonder if Tiger would dare do this on the 18th for the masters?

Couldn't watch his swing to many times, It would disturb me.

Ive heard of him, it just goes to show that no matter what the swing (so long as its not extreme) you can achieve a great shot. I wonder how many golfers out there are following the current book of golf swing when all along they should be swinging like Moe?
