I don't think that they're following TM's marketing style. They're just exposing TM's claims and comparing like for like.. Quite clever.

I think TM is more commonly associated with distance claims and I would guess that Mizuno are more interested in TM's market share than Callaway's.I also think you will find that Callaway was the latest manufacturer making distance claims, not TM - why not focus on them?
good job it wasn't an A.G store he visited or he would have come out with clubs that he couldn't hit but were on the target for the shop to sell,plus a dozen balls and a bag of tee pegs to sweeten the deal!!!!!!! yes speaking from past experiences.
