Bùenas noches!

I spy with my little eye Mizuno MX200s. An older model but not seen or heard anything less than a glowing review for these sticks. And they're forged, which sounds pretty but means jack to me having never hit a forged iron in my life.

Seen some of these in my specs for a reasonable price, but how do they compare to current models in terms of distance and forgiveness? Lofts seem identical to my now departed G20s.

All thoughts and opinions welcome, but be quick, I am armed with Red Stripe, cash, more Red Stripe and acute impulsiveness.

Much love.

I have them and love them, but at nearly 5 years old, I am not sure how they compare with today's offerings. Has technology improved irons in the last 5 years?

I think that they'd be a good buy! I don't think irons have changed too much in the last 5 years.

I'm using MX-23 irons which are as good as 10 years old.

Are you sure they're your spec?

If you were fitted for your Pings at, say 2 degrees upright or flat, from standard. That may be slightly different from Mizuno's standard which are, from memory, flatter than most OEM's.

May be worth a quick check before the Red Stripe parts you and your cash :D

Oh, I have a friend playing MX200's. He's off 6 and loves them.

Just got rid of mine, amazing club, forgiving but still look good and they feel really nice.

They come with proper lofts as standard but they can be strengthened or weakened by 2* as they are forged.

How much are the ones you have your eye on?

my brother plays these irons. he loves them. just last week said he is no hurry to change. hes had them for years.

£120 and counting on ebay at the moment, 12 hrs to go...

I had mizuno mx23s, even older than those. I personally don't think there has been any real advancement other than shoving longer shafts and cranking lofts in irons so more distance can be claimed.
Use a permanent marker to cross out the 5 and write 6 on the 5iron etc... job done. :)

In fact I can sell you a lovely condition set of 3-pw mx23 for £100 plus delivery if you want. New grips, dynalite gold s300 shafts.

go for it, I nearly bought some but went for Titleist 775cb's as I had a set before, yes they are an older model but already hitting them way better than my rocketbladez! (wasn't hard mind you as struggled with them since day one :( )

They're some pretty fearsome bats Gibbo! I'd be scared to used them. Still want something that will offer me help when i'm swinging it like an eejit. Which is quite often.

they are surprisingly easy to hit

You seem to like Callaway, have a look at the RazrX Tour irons.

Got a set of these myself (moving from Pro Combos) and I've been very impressed with them.

Just looked on ebay and seem to be around the £200-ish mark (some lower some higher).
