was given a couple of sleeves of the Mizuno MPs ball with my recent purchase of the JPX850 driver.

Used one yesterday and was very impressed by it, soft of the putter plenty of spin around the green. i was given some of the Mizuno MP balls when they came out by the mag, but found they scuffed up way too quickly. This was not the case with the S stayed pretty white and didn't cut up anything like the prev MP ball id used.

Told this was the equivalent of the Prov 1x and it performance was very similar, the only downside would be the cost they want about the same price for the as the Pro v 1 and could not see any being offered cheaper, where as ive had some bargain Prov's.

Anyone else tried these?

I've tried them before and they're a very good ball. The only thing I didn't like is they seem to discolour very quickly i.e. Less than 1 round.

My current ball of choice. Love the new version as they have addressed the discolouration problem without affecting the softness of the cover.
Someone has it a bit mixed up though, the new MP-X is the Pro-V1x equivalent, a 4 piece version for a faster swing speed.
The MP-S remains a 3 piece akin to the Pro-V1 but for me, with my dodgy swing, they go further and stop quicker than the Titleist.
The MP-X is also a very good ball but a bit firmer for said dodgy swing.

You are right Greig it was the X.... silly me. you are right about them curing the discoloration problem.

shame about the price, otherwise they could be onto a winner

where was that Greig, though the wife did get me 3 dozen Pro V1 X from the local pro and only paid £75 for last years version.

Its an ebay seller called Stephen Hunter Golf. Has the MP-X on the same deal.
I suppose the problem price wise is that there is no old version of this ball to sell cheap. There is of the S but then that comes with the discolouration issues. Can get the old MP-S for £25 a dozen. £30 a pop for the new ones was too good to refuse.

I was lucky enough to win a GM comp for a few dozen when they first came out.

Great ball, but did look like a dog had chewed it after 18 holes.

If the newer version has improved durability then they should be an epic ball.

Far batter Gaz, up there with the Z-Star in terms of staying white longer and not cutting up.
Played 18 with one today and after a rub with the towel came up very well at the end.

def have Gaz, that was the main prob with it before. Ive played 2 rounds now with the MP X and very impressed with them, still very white and not scuffed up at all.

Not sure which version of the MPS but Clubhouse golf have just advertised them at £19.99...

just had a look and they are doing the old models which scuffed up quite easily for £29.99, can't see any for £19.99.

The ones i tried were the MP X ( which is same as a Prov1X) still want £39.99

I'm on their mailing list. Just checked the email, and it is the old ones, and it is £19.99

The 2014 MPS and the Wilson FG Tour are great balls, but the 2014 MPS marked really easily and both the MPS and FG discoloured after one round.

As I posted above the JPX are a good ball, resilient little buggers as well, still got the same one after 3 rounds, it just doesn't want to get lost no matter how hard I try.
