Mizuno mp 60 or mp 30?

I have an Mp 60 3 iron, and i find it good to use, but it is only as long as my tm 4 iron, so its out the bag for the summer, unless I play a links course, then I would take it as more penetrating flight. never used the 30's.

Given the choice which clubs would you guys get???

Are you thinking of getting some?

I think the 60s are beautiful. Sadly, one of our juniors off 14 has bought a set and can't hit them. :D

I use mp30's and can only be positive about them.
Looks and feel are great more so in the higher irons.

I've not used mp60's so i cant really compare.

hope this helps

If you want blades then you cant beat the MP-30s. If you want a semi-cavity go for the MP-60s.........SIMPLES :)

When did they start filling in the cavity on the MP 30s then ??

In answer to the OP, get them both in your hands and get some club on ball. I could say plump for the 60s because I love mine but that wouldn't necessarily be the right thing for you.

Haha im thinking of the MP-32s :D......forget what i said ;)

These are pretty similar clubs, and both are very good. The 60s are a newer model than the 30s, so may be in better condition.

The shafts available should be a major consideration in choosing between them. That will make a bigger difference than the head.

They might be shorter than a TM because they have tour lofts, not lofts designed to flatter the average player.

My tm tour prefered 4 iron has 24 deg loft, the mp 60 3 iron is 21 deg loft, the clubs have different shafts however which could account for the difference. also, i think it maybe slightly ignorant to suggest that tm make clubs to flatter, surely that is the aim of all major manufacturers, that is how they sell clubs!!

Some makes use stronger lofts and longer shafts to add distance because golfers seem to think that is important in irons.

When I started playing golf, a pitching wedge had 50 degrees of loft. Now some PWs are 44 degrees, stronger than an old 9 iron. Drivers used to be 43" long, but that latest TM drivers are 46", so will go a lot further, including further sideways.

All manufacturers make clubs that they think people will want. That is not flattery. But some make clubs so that a player can tell their mates in the bar that they hit a 7 iron at the 6th hole. That is flattery.

It is naive to think this is not a problem.

Neither mp32s all day!

Seriously though try as many of the mp series irons as you can get your hands on and hit as many balls as possible until you find the ones that fit you and your swing. They are extremely personal and even if you buy 2nd hand I'd pay to have a CF session with Mizuno on them anyway. Thanks to them I know MP32s, DG S300s, -1/2", 1 degree flat, 2 layers of tape fits ME according to them. If you go by my glove size, height etc you wouldn't get those specs. They even told me my MP32s suited me better than one of their newer sets and told me not to bother.

Guess who I'll go see when I wear the grooves out on these!

Me and my dad are thinking about getting a 2nd hand set just to have a mess around with!
Sounds silly but... We both love the looks of the mizuno mp series and these clubs are quite cheap atm! We have decided that if we see a set cheap possibly on ebay we will get some for a bit of fun and for use at the driving range because our clubs live at our course. :)
SO... any advice???
