Hey,
I am looking for a review or advice on the mizuno mp 52's. I am currently a 22 capper but still playing to 18. I love the look of the mizzys. Does anybody use them or have used them? What do you think? Also do you think i could use them?
I would consider myself a good ballstriker with a mid-high ball flight.
thanks :D

The 52s are an excellent iron, but on the face of it, might be a tough prospect for a 22 handicap, even a good ball striker for that handicap.

Having said that, the choice of shaft is probably more important than the head design, so if you do go for them, make sure you get custom fitted for a suitable shaft. One way to do so is to go to a Mizuno National Fitting Centre in Surrey, Wrexham or Cumbernauld, and they will do a full fit, or at least have 3 swings on the shaft optimiser available at many Mizuno dealers, which will give a quick estimate of most suitable shafts.

Judging by the reviews and comments on here, the new JPX800 or the Pro version may be a viable alternative. Not hit one (yet) but they do seem preety good and more forgiving which would probably give you the best of all worlds especially if you follow Ethan's (king of shaft advice) tip and make sure you get something that works for your swing speed

I have the 52s and I do really love them.

I play off of 14 so not exactly setting the world alight with skill and most days get on ok with them. I would say that they are relatively forgiving but catch it thin or out of the toe/heel and you are toast.

Providing you hit it pretty consistantly out of the middle then as Ethan says, the shaft will be the most significant factor.

Give one a crack and see what you think.

Heey,
I have just got in from a afternoon round. I shot an 87! My equaled best so far. :D
I am going to keep mine until jan-feb... But when i do get new irons i will try get fitted but i may not have the money. :( But i will however try as many different clubs as i possibly can!

I play them, but i think they are aimed at medium to lower handicaps. Might be better to look at more forgiving irons like the new 800's ?
