Anyone up to speed on these at all?

My Cleveland FL 5wood has a gold one in it. It looks rank but I like it and can hit it well. The shaft says on it
X29275G6Tour issue superlite system, 43R, international flex code 7511.

The shaft that was in my broken driver was a Fujikura 50gram, mid tourque, mid kick, active tip, fit on M, S flex (god knows what that all means) but when I bought it, 2nd hand from Lakeside AG, I was told it was a stiff shaft. Up until last night I hit this club fine and liked it.

Questions are. Are the two shaft similar? I'm gussing the Miy is a Regular but the R? but the Fuji stiff so they're not the same.

Reason I'm asking is that I've found a Cleveland SL290 driver 10.5 deg, with a Miyazaki shaft, same aweful gold colour, but it listed as Miyazaki 43 Light shaft and in the picture where my 5w says 43R, the driver says 43A???
The driver is brand new still in its wrapper so could be a bargain if the shaft is ok for me or similat to the 5w which I know I can hit.

Any views appreciated.

The Miyazaki 43R in the 5W is a pretty whippy one anyway - which doesn't actually do any harm in a 5W, but can be 'difficult' in a Driver (I certainly found it so in a SL290, though it was good while recovering from my broken ankle!).

Fujikura shafts normally have a much more even flex spread - like 3333 etc - so quite different feel!

If you were to go down the Miyazaki route, the Ultralite 39S is much more stable imo. The 'A', 'R' and 'S' do relate to flexes btw, so the 43A in a Driver would be a wet noodle!

If you are looking for a good value, pretty much bulletproof, true to flex shaft, the YS6/YS6+/YSQ family from Graphite Design suits 95+% of Golfers and has nice feel. Same basic shaft evolved - the YSQ is the latest evolution. The Diamana Blue series/family is similar (and 'active tip' if you like that feel). Both families are slightly heavier than your current (dead) Fuji though.

But no candles....the ozone layer's taken enough of a pounding this week with Bonfire Night lasting a week and a half.......

[pedant mode] Ozone layer is actually recovering (slowly)! It was not candles/fireworks that caused that; it was CFCs!

Global Warming though?....

It felt like hardly any fireworks round us this year, yes they were spread over a week so maybe that is why they felt less.

Thanks foxholer, the 43r in the 5 wood feels fine so i'll stick with this but i wont go for the 43a in the driver then.

Fireworks round ours have been non existent this year, hardly any infact. even now i cant hear any going off.
