Missed opportunity?

I Popped up to the Belfry this afternoon to watch abit of the EuroPro tour which is currently taking place on the Brabazon and to get 9 holes in before my first comp of the year Sunday... After watching 45 mins or so of the EuroPro we teed of on the first and through 9 holes I had 4 pars and 5 bogeys for 22 points (Under competition rules) but most importantly my bad right arm that has been ruining golf over the past few months didn't give me too much trouble.

After 9 holes (around 6PM) I went into the clubhouse to check the members board and to say I was anoyed was an understatement!!! There was a stableford comp today and I'd just walked off after 9 holes with 22 points and Driving aside I was playing well. To add to the frustration I then found out the comp Sunday is a 4 ball better ball or some nonsense like that so I won't be playing in that!!! :angry:

I can't help but think I let one get away today :rant:

PS... If you are in the area then the final round of the EuroPro tour is taking place tomorrow with the leader -8 and it's well worth the trip as you can literally walk the course with whichever group you want to follow :thup:

I looked at the scores and your pro playing in it had a nightmare, he even NR today

Had you entered the comp before going out though. If you don't do so at my place you can't enter retrospectively at the end so I doubt you'll score would have counted even if you'd played on. Enjoy the fact you are playing well and either work on your game at the weekend if you can't play or give your arm a bit longer to rest. Either seems to be a winner

LOL I was speaking to him in the clubhouse Sunday and I think he was a little nervous... Did t know his name though so I couldn't check the leaderboard.

One score I did notice though was a 69 on day one then a 81 on day 2 I think it was :rofl:

No I hadn't entered Homer, that's what was annoying as I always check the comp board before playing normally but the EuroPro tour had took my eye of the ball.

Surely if you hadn't entered beforehand it wouldn't have mattered if you'd played 18 or not? I'm also assuming you weren't playing on your own?

Anyhow, if you'd entered the comp you'd have played rubbish

The amount of people trying to get through to the Euro Pro Tour now is massive - must be the most competitve tour out there.

Was very good to watch, one lad belted what I assume was a driving iron a good 10 yards past his playing partners who where using 3 woods. It also put my mind at rest with my own high ball flight as there's was just launched into orbit.

Again I would have loved to have gone but I was over at Brandon Wood GC in Coventry for a matchplay knock with some pals!
