I'm fixing up a few games (currently 4!) whilst away from home or general holiday-ing. Not wishing to fill the car with a big bag/16 assorted clubs/trolley etc. I'm planning on hiding a carry bag and 1/2 set from HID.....under the dog in the boot! (almost)

I'm thinking I can get away with 3w/3h 5/7/9/52* and putter.
That's 6.....and take out my 2 dozen spare balls and kitchen sink.

Anyone reckon I'm going to struggle? Anyone do the same? Will I regret not having the big beast? Is this too tricky to get close to my normal game (83-88). Should I chuck in a PW?

What d'you think? :)

Cheers,

Sounds like the whole escapade would make a good "Carry On"-style comedy....

As for the 1/2 set of clubs, it's a great idea. You might lose a few yards off the tee but not enough to make a huge difference. Should you take a wedge? If you can hit an 80% 9-iron then leave it behind, otherwise stick a bit more steel under Fido...

I've played a few games recently with a similar 1/2 set (because I've playing with my son and have his wee clubs in my bag). I like the fact that you have to (try to) manufacture so shots, mainly the 80%/90% shot, to compensate for the holes in your arsenal

Take em all Dave, If you get caught you wont get in any less trouble for having less clubs, plus as brendy said, wont take up anymore room.

Dont want any excuses from you if i beat you Wednesday :D

Just kidding, Actually yeah take the half set, give me a chance! :p

Get a bigger dog!

then you'll be able to take the big dog (hidden under a big dog)

Very good.

All packed and set. Actually, the missus car is HUGE compared to mine, they have all fitted in....no problem!!

You guys have SAVED me, she was arguing for as few as possible (or none at all).....as it happens, her tardis car is relatively empty.....even with DOG.

I take 3w/4/6/8/PW/60/putter and it really makes little difference if I'm honest. It encourages a bit more commitment on some shots and a bit of thought. Take 7 clubs, otherwise you might as well take a rangeholder and 5 clubs.
