Milford Golf Club

Played it years ago, not long after it opened. Quite a few water features, and very wet when I played. May have improved over the years, but wasn't a fan.

I've played there once, unfortunately don't remember a lot about it.

It was in pretty good nick when I was there, and I remember it feeling quite short. 18th tee shot is pretty interesting over water. All of the Crown courses I have played seemed to have been of very similar standard, so if you have played a crown course before I imagine it will be in similar condition. I played in the summer so can't really comment on how well it drains during the winter.

I do remember the practise green being quirky in the sense that it is very undulating!

Probably played there over 100 times in the last 20 odd years. It's a nice place to play. Not especially tricky and is a bit shortish. Drier than most courses in the area. Greens are ok nothing special. A couple of real quality holes and fair few average ones. Cheeky closing two holes could trip you up. It's a good society course imho.

if you member the fun and games with Compton Holdings in the 1990s, it was one of that group of courses. No dissent from me on the previous comments, not in the class of many of the stars within a 25 mile radius, but nor does it claim to be.

I'd echo the some good holes and some dull ones , but still a game on a nice winters day over Xmas is never a bad thing

That seems to sum up every crown golf course .

Played there once or twice. Nice course, played in the winter and it was dry even though we'd had rain. Has a par 5 18th which (if you go for the Tiger line over the pond) is eagle-able. Only a par 69 if I remember rightly? But that shouldn't take away from it.

The 17th par 3 is in my opinion one of the best, about 100yds all carry over water to a small green and too far and you've lost it in the ditch. As already said the 18th is good too.

Very standard Peter Alliss like many of the Crown courses tbh. Fairly decent if unspectacular with a fair amount of water.

See similar styles as Chobham, Traditions and Pyrford

Was a member for a few years when it first opened.
Both my games this year have been at Milford, including their charity day.
On that day the greens were as smooth and fast as you like.
It drains really well these days and, although quite short, you need to think your way round much of it.
The 9th green suffers due to it being almost permanently in the shade.
It has a fabulous set of par threes and, as has already been mentioned, the last two holes can really make or break your score.
The driving range is okay but the putting green is a joke ..................... far too steep!
I hope you enjot your day, let us know what you think.

God I'd forgotten the practice green... putting at a 45degree angle!!
