Had a real shocker on the course on Saturday after a really encouraging range session on Friday. I went back to the range tonight and took a couple of my old TM Tour Preferred irons (5 & 7). They were definitely shorter than the G25's but I loved looking down on the smaller head again. Like Friday I swung it very nicely and the swing changes from last weeks lesson starting to feel more natural.

Given that the game on Saturday is only a roll up, I'm tempted to go back and play the TP's again. I am starting to get a real issue in my head about the size of the G25's even though they performed the best in my fitting. IF I get back down towards single figures I want to get a smaller looking set. I've decided I might have some fun and take the TP's out for a bash at the weekend and see how they go.

Thoughts?

If you have it in your head the G25's are the problem then you are going to struggle with them

Playing with a different set will help you come to a conclusion

It's either your swing or your clubs or your mind ( the fav IMO. )

Take them out on sat ( the TM's )

No.

Don't.

Going back is never a good thing.

Ever.

That's what Ebay is for.

That apart, a change is as good as a rest. But, a swing is a swing, and it is never the clubs fault. Ever. It just isn't.

Me, me, me, but I shot a crummy 84 on Saturday, and then a crummy 76 on Sunday. It's not the sticks, it's me, and I probably played similarly both times. Golf is a game of margins.

My thoughts, confidence in what your using is key.
You have to get rid of your Pings.
The other thing is you are playing badly on the course, but having good range sessions.
Have you thought of having a course lesson.
Hitting off a flat mat will never feel the same as grass.

The swing was in a state of flux and to be honest going OB off the 1st tee scrambled the head and I had just recovered when I lost a ball on 7. After that I was thinking too much (again) and it fell apart and I lost interest as well. In my mind, trying a better club, is a) a litmus test on how good the swing really is now b) preparation for the new 2014 releases including the I25 and c) something darn sight more enjoyable to look at

You can hit the TPs mate, I've seen you do it you just need to believe it and find a short game. Get the TPs back in the bag for Saturday

I'd get them G25's up for sale as soon as possible so you can get a decent amount of cash to go towards your new clubs. You are clearly unhappy with them so make the switch mate...

When you get a new set of bats, the unwritten rule is to get shot of the old ones, who wants their ex's looking over your shoulder when you are trying to get on with business.

stop standing up on your swing, maintain your spine angle and you can hit anything :mmm:
