So, tee time booked for tomorrow afternoon, just a morning at work then I'll be teeing off in my first medal with an official handicap. There is another thread on here regarding my handicap which is 24. Not sure how they scored it but that's what I'm playing off tomorrow. Been playing better than ever recently and had two friendly 9 holes in the last week, carding 38 both times. My lessons are paying off and I'm striking the ball so well. Hoping for a nice dry afternoon/early evening and hopefully a stress free morning at work!!

Relax and have fun. Every shot counts so try and have a plan for each hole and if you get into trouble, take the shortest route back. Use your shots and don't be tempted to take on long par 4's in two if you don't have to. Better to lay up to a favourite wedge distance and make a net par and no damage. If you are unsure of a ruling and how to proceed don't do anything without consulting your partners and definitely don't touch the ball until you decide what you are going to do.

It is suppose to be tough but it is also suppose to be fun. Enjoy. I'm sure you'll be ok

Cheers for the heads up guys. I'll definitely be relaxed as I know the other 3 guys very well and have played with them before, I think that will help. I also really understand the need to manage my way around the course and will only play shots I am comfortable with. My biggest issue for a whole was getting off the tee straight but my RBZ stage 2 hybrid is ideal for our track as it isn't too long and I know I hit that straight 9/10 times. Also, having been given such a generous handicap I can just go out and play, haven't got to think 'I need a par here etc'
