GB72, TonyN and I stopped off on the Thursday on our way up to Goswick for a 'quote' warm up game 'unquote' with vig, this being his home course.
What can I tell you, we had all four seasons in one hole! Everything from warm sun to freezing hail, oh, and don't forget the wind!
Despite that, masochist that I am, I enjoyed it. At bottom it's good, solid and interesting and has the feel of a 'proper' course.
That day the star of the show was the lunch, mega portions. Quite easily one of the best I've found at any of the courses I've played - in my top 3. Just go for the Ultimate Yorkshire Pudding filled with Oyster, Stout and Beef Stew - it beat me, just!
It has easy access off the A1 at Darrington so if you're heading north or south, stop off.
