Microsoft band - Golf tile

Works well for me so far. GPS seems spot on (compared to laser etc).

Score counting part hasn't been great so far on putting, full shots register well. But score can easily be adjusted before next hole. The taylormade tie up hasn't been switched on yet so its still not fully functional.

Very close to getting one when I was in the states. Had a really long play with one in the Microsoft store. Functionality seemed decent and I liked the design although found it helped to wear face down rather than like a normal watch. Course list wasn't great though and think it may take the next iteration to be really appealing.

Course list was slow to get going. It was a good week after launch before my course was added. But last time I had checked number of Scottish courses mapped had trebled since launch and all local ones are now in.

Have to say I like the functionality from fitnedd tracking / golf etc. But I wouldn't buy one just now. Second gen band is due later in the year.

As far as I knew, the myroundpro hasn't been up / launched yet. Certainly not had any emails re it and been registered for ages.

Although it could be live and a staged roll out if you have had it live spongebob?

Ive got one and used it for golf.

The TaylorMade website isn't up and working yet so there is no post round review available. GPS works fine and my local course is on there.

Thought the interface is a bit clunky and it kept switching to the next tee as I approached a green so didn't pick up all my shots on the correct holes. Also hated the fact it vibrates and had to turn that off as it can be distracting as it did it once in the middle of a back-swing :(

The worst thing about it though is that its quite wide (fat) and I wear it on my left wrist. I found the band was constantly hitting my right forearm in my follow through and I ended up with a huge bruise.

Thought I had seen it, but can't get in now, maybe it was live for a while ?

This is the reply I got when I asked them to remap :

~ I have validated the course map against the site provided and it is correct. I would urge the customer to make sure they are selecting the correct Canterbury course as there are a few from different locales.

In regards to the yardage and par, there are customer service forms within MyRoundPro to submit the change information. Upon launch customers can submit needed changes and they will be taken care of promptly.

Thank you,

I can only guess they have looked at a satellite image of the course and guessed where the holes are.

I have offered to send them the correct card and link to a map of the holes and the club website but they have yet to get back to me.

The band is pretty much useless for me in terms of the golf tile and I don't wish to trust it on my travels to other courses so have bought a garmin.

Thanks spongebob59. I was starting to get temped by one of these things but your post has firmly put that out of my mind!

Basically a useless product and customer service that doesn't want to know! Poor show.

(Assuming you're not looking at the wrong course!)

Just to add to the total downer on this, I know someone well who works for Microsoft and he returned his as the functionality is just not there yet. He is not even a big golfer, was using it for other things. He advised to wait for at least the second generation (coming soon) before even thinking of buying one.

No post code is good.

To be fair to Microsoft, they've been good in trying to help me resolve this, but TM own that side of the package and they don't seem that interested.
