I understand the main difference is the shaft, but how do the heads compare? Reason I ask, there is a woman's wedge for buttons on eBay. Is it worth buying then just getting it reshafted?

be quick with your serious answers, not long left...

funny replies can come later 😜

this is my secret to buying cheap clubs. i just bought a new rbz 3 wood with ladies shaft for 20. pulled the shaft and in went my stiff shaft. no difference what so ever.

the reason why its cheaper is the women's market is smaller so less demand

Might want to be a bit careful there

Very often it just seems to be the same head-design with a different color scheme (and different shaft flex & length, of course), but I know some manufacturers do put some extra thought into it and tweak the ladies' versions a little. With Cobra, the hybrids and fairway woods come with more loft by default (for example, my Baffler XL 3 Wood has 18 degrees of loft, while the men's version comes with 15 °), making it easier to get the ball airborne with lower swing speeds. With specialty wedges for women I have so far only seen cavity back designs (for whatever reason ... it really puzzles me, because on the short game side of things, I don't think the difference is too great, yet it seems to be impossible to buy a bladed wedge off the shelf with shaft length, flex and swing weight optimised for a female player)

But to get back to your question: is it really worth it? What does reshafting cost if you get a new shaft and also throw in a new grip? I would imagine for that price difference you can just as well find a used men's wedge that suits you better.

I always thought the clubhead was lighter in women's clubs as well

Suggest you check the cost of the club + re-shaft . Against many of the good clubs on eBay. Remember your talking a new grip also.
