Fun match at our club tomorrow. Ladies off the whites and men off the reds - we get an extra shot a hole! I think that's generous but am really looking forward to playing off the whites. I can hit all our greens in regulation and a couple of the Par 5's in 2 with a fair wind but reckon the whites takes out GIR on at least half the holes for me...my driver and 5 wood will be getting a lot of use!

Should be great fun

Sounds a great idea! People should be able to play off which tee they want too, I know many men who need to play off a shorter tee and ladies who should be off the whites week in week out!

I wonder if any par 4 greens are in reach in one for the Men from the Reds.....?

Good question. 2nd would be, 10th and 11th too as those are in range for the big hitters off the yellows. Easier course management for me than David off different tees "that'll be driver then"..."that'll be 5 wood then" !!

Great idea!

Indeed, a shot a hole seems generous. Maybe trying to encourage participation!

There are a couple of Ladies I know who would still outdrive me!

I guess so as the higher handicapper ladies don't seem to relish it as it's too much of a slog I think. Some of the guys moan about the shots but all in all I'm told the banter is good natured and it's great to see a turnout of 15 pairs per gender!

I reckon the ladies will scoosh it.

The men will be swinging out their boots on every shot- it's a male thing when the fairer sex are around.

Swing easy to victory.

You could well be right! Their course management will be tested more than ours I think as if we aint got enough club we aint got enough club and it's the lay up option all day :-)

ours is Tuesday week, called the Emancipation Trophy.

men play off 10% handicap and Reds

ladies off full handicap and yellows (trust me Whites isn't appropriate because of water carries and no lay-up options)

because it's midweek it's mainly seniors and 20-28 handicaps so similar to your handicapping. I won't be playing because I would be 10 shots better off!

Brilliant - beats Novelty Match.

If Virtuocity is right it could be renamed the Emasculation Trophy!

Sounds like a great idea. I sometimes have a practice round of the reds as it forces you to play shots you wouldn't normally play and makes the course feel very different. Great practice for the short game as well. Think a few of the ladies would do well of the greens or even the whites at my places as well.

What a great idea, have fun and I also think the ladies will trounce the men with all those shots. Great way to build bridges though, if you need them, between the ladies and men's sections.

Will be interested to hear how it all went.

Well the match was an honourable draw.

I really enjoyed the challenge and was only a couple over handicap for the round. There was a competition for the best pairing of each gender (stableford better ball) and we won with an awesome 51 points :whoo: We won our match 5&3 and our opponents played great with 44 points.
