Men are from Mars........

September/October for us. The wife is a properly sensible Yorkshire girl. That way there's no financial impact at Christmas. Plus, I don't have to do any of the Christmas shopping. Win, win.

Is it nearly Christmas then??

I usually search the net late November as can't abide actually going in shops. I even buy my cards and wrapping paper online.

Will have the finances saved seperatly & in place so theres no pressure in December, but shopping will be done 1st 2 weeks Dec .. freewheel into the 25th then .. do the food shop the evening of the 23rd..

Bit early to be mentioning the C word tho Robert ... shame on you

My wife and daughter start with the January sales!!

Not sure whether to admire thier thrift or deplore thier meaness.

This is the same daughter who was a very high maintenance teenager.

Just the wife and I this year so nice and simple. Her parents are off to San Diego to see their other daughter and family so we'll sort their presents before they go. Food shopping a doddle and nice and stress free. HID will do her usual superb dinner on the big day and we can do whatever we want after. Happy days (although inevitably tinged with sadness this year)

My wifey has started already and will ask my opinion on things but probably wont ask me much more than that. She's also good enough to email me links to, or dog ear the page of, the EMP or Kate's Clothing catalogue of the thing(s) she wants.

She's a keeper :)

mrs rooter starts in about June to spread the costs. we have agreed to not bother getting each other pressies this year, (dont need/want anything!) she got a macbook last year and i got golf clubs!

but the earlier the better for us, no pain in decembers monies!
