I have been playing Nomadic Golf for the past 4/5 years, really down to getting married and knowing the wife and I were eventually going to move to where she is from, well it's all finally happened and I have joined the fantastic links course of Kirkistown, http://www.linksgolfkirkistown.com/, I have to say it's fantastic being a member of a club again and all that it entails.

Was just wondering are most people on here affiliated with a club or nomadic? There are benefits to both but I have to say I much prefer being a member of a great club.

I'm a member and have been most of my golfing career. Nothing wrong with being nomadic but I enjoy just bein able to roack up at any time to play or practice. Always someone about for some banter

Nice course Kirkistown. Very links in appearance and play, but, it's on the landward side of the road so just seems funny at times. Been a few years since I was there but it was in great nic in mid summer when I was there.

I started playing in 2006 and joined a club straight away so have never really been a non member while ive been playing. I can't see me ever not be a member of a club.

I've been a member of the same club for 56 years. I can go there any day of the week & find someone to play with, it's great going out with different people of a range of abilities. Made a few business contacts too. Much easier to arrange a game than when you don't have a home club, I wouldn't be without my membership.

I've been playing about a year seriously. I have hopped between 3 clubs so far. The first was closing due to RFC buying them out, then moved to the second which became very expensive due to not being able to play often enough to make it worth while and now with a pending move to Swansea I am a 'Silver' Member at a local 9 hole course just to maintain a handicap.

I REALLY like the idea and social style of club golfing and as soon as I am moved and settled I will be taking up a full membership again somewhere.

Only benefit of being a Nomad is the variety in courses you get to be able to afford to play. I feel a bit put out to spend every time I play with a mate if I have a membership somewhere already.
