Hi all
I've just got a new laptop and wondered which media player to download.
All I really need it for is to put all my music onto my lappy and also I'll be wanting to burn music onto blank CD's to play in the car.
Any recommendations would be gratefully received.
Oh, preferably ones that are easy to use, too.

Cheers.

I've always used Windows Media Player. Does all you've mentioned and is simple to use. In particular I use it for transferring CDs to my SD card for the car.

Wow, I must be dumb because I can't manage to 'rip' a CD using VLC Media Player.
I get stuck at the point where I'm asked to,

'select the output destination of the file and its name'.

Until I put something into that boxthe start button remains greyed out. What am I supposed to put in that box that's on the 'convert' page?
My CD is in the drawer and I'm raring to go.
What am I missing?

Download CDex for ripping. Much better as you can choose the bitrate.
