Having had a season to forget at my club (h/c up from 11 to 13, .1 back every comp except 2 buffer zone efforts) I had a nice surprise recently when I went to the prize giving of the society I play in, I knew I had a couple of bits to collect (nearest pins etc) but was gobsmacked when the overall result for the year was announced (best 6 from 8 scores) It was me!!! I had won

LOL that doesnt surprise me, society golf (I am a member of one as well as my club membership) is a complete unknown, some weeks 43 points wins, then next its 28, go figure. regardless, well done that man.

lesson is never ever give up.

I played in a comp last year and was heading for an 87 scratch and my head and everything else was low, couldnt wait to get off the course, came in 2nd missed first by 2 shots should have kept trying my best right till the last putt. I do now

I feel the same anguish although I reserved my best two rounds of the year for St Pierre and Forest of Arden. I bow to your ability to craft six decent rounds together over a year :lol:
