Well, as the title indicates, hello!

I'm a relatively new "addict" to this crazy sport. I played briefly as a teenager, played sporadically last summer, and then have really taken to it in the last few months. So much so that I have joined a course, and I'm even trying to get a handicap to prove how bad i am!

Current aim is to get down to 18 by New year 2014, although who knows whether that is feasible! I feel that it isn't too far away, I scored 23 over in my first handicap round (although this is after discounting 1 x 10, 1 x 9 and 2 x 8's down to doubles!) which shows how unconsistent my golf currently is!

I've even bought a couple of new Pings, a 3w and a hybrid, rather than using the the old tatty 3w I got given. This isn't as much to make my golf better, but i'm slowly getting rid of all my excuses until it comes down to the pleb at the grip end!

Hoping to get involved on here, and heres hoping my handicap decreases as much as my post count increases!

Thanks very much!

Now, who do I write to about getting this whole putting malarkey taken out of the game? After missing 4 putts of less than 18 inches the other day, I think getting it on the green should count as close enough

hello and welcome, enjoy!

former briclhampton member myself, i see in your other thread your struggling for a card marker can the shop not help out, always used to do a grand job or just book yourself on a spot at a weekend, assuming there still a friednly bunch. Other option would be to turn up to club night assuming thats still running you get a friendly 9 holes but meet loads in bar afterwards.

go luck and 18 seems well within reach.

Hi pbrown (and everyone else)

They are trying to help out, advised I turn up on members mornings on a saturday, but due to a comp, that isn't on this sat! I imagine it should sort itself out in the next few weeks, I just thought while I was at work, this might be worth trying in case there was a large amount of members congregated on here! Will try and get down to members evening tomorrow, if work lets me! Thanks for the advice!

Welcome.

If you ever fancy a round at Gloucester Golf club (on Robinswood Hill), give me a shout. I’m no longer a member (not enough time to play much this year), but I understand the course is in great nick now. Just remember to bring your oxygen mask :D

Can’t say I’m a fan of Brickhampton myself, found it flat and uninspiring, but each to his own!

Hi Aztecs!

I may take you up on that at somepoint actually! I do enjoy finding new courses around here, the theory being is that it can only make me better. in practice, not so much!

I wouldn't say I think Brickie is an amazing course, but the offer for a 24 year old, combined with the forgivingness it offers a beginner made me thought it is a brilliant course to get a couple of years under my belt until I can afford Cotswold Hills! ;)

Welcome!

Ill take you up Cotswold Hills for a knock one evening if you like....you just buy a Thatchers after!

already in stunning condition, but just you wait til the trees go green and the rough is up!

Pic I took tonight looking back down he first at around 19:45
