I've had a few down the years and I've finally come to the conclusion that...

I simply don't like them
They don't look right, to me anyway...
I like a nice gloss finish and how a club looks matters to me.
Are you a glossy or a matte?
Or don't you mind one way or the other....?

Oh no, I much prefer the matte look, just looks better behind the ball to me. I think it makes the head look a little tidier and maybe more compact, which I like.

No the matte blackmis as dull as the feel of a Ping driver, mso a match made i heaven

You obviously aren't hitting the sweet spot ;)

Ill tell you what i will do, go and hit the new G driver tomorrow and it feels better than when i hit my R15(which gives me some feedback).

I will honestly come on here a say so.

but Matte black is as boring as the ridiculous sound of the G30

I guess that's open to opinion, I like the look of matte clubs, since I had an i20 3 wood, great club by the way, imo, I also like the look of my g30, sits great at address, and it gives me forgiveness which is what I want from my driver, goes great, I have a ls tec and you def get feed back from it, I have tried tm drivers and they don't suit me, I liked my titleist 910, but the 915 when I tried it, along with the m1 didn't match the numbers of the ping. Good luck with the g I've not tried it but I'm sure it will be more consistent than a tm, well for me it would.

It's more to do with the quality of the club that gets me.
Most Modern drivers & fairway woods tend to look well used pretty quickly compared to older models.
My old G10 is still in great condition.

A ball, being addressed by a club which has a matte finish suddenly develops the characteristics of a stealth bomber, in that the clubs radar totally manages to evade detection of the ball.

Or could be pilot error :)

Prefer shiny shinies

Never really thought about it and bought on the performance. I do like a shiny set of irons which isn't something Ping are renowned for but I do like the quieter look of their woods. Not a fan of a busy (M1 type) driver head

Couldn't care less - how it performs is the really issue. I'll leave the pretty talk to men who love men.
