Hi

We a playing a quarter final of our winter league competition at the weekend and will be giving shots away to our opponents. Due to the recent rain 2 holes have been closed at our course.

Is there any kind of adjustment when calculating shots or is it as if 18 holes were being played

No adjustment

All shots stay the same and if someone had shots on the holes that are closed then it's unfortunate

What stroke index would you apply?

The closed holes are effectively halved, which accurate handicaps would achieve.

What if they were not continuous holes and say indexes 3 & 5 on holes 5 & 8 where I got shots but the other player didn't, surely the advantage falls away from me then with them being halved?

Just asking..

Exactly that - in scratch KO you could prob do it but not in a HC KO because of the SI and shot situation

If you miss out on shot holes - then it's hard luck

This happened to us in our last tie. Holes 9 and 10 were closed. I suggested just playing 16 (seems obvious to me, especially when any shots didn't come into play on these holes) but our opponents were adamant that we play 1 and 2 again. We went with their thinking. In the end it didn't matter, all square after 16 holes so would have had to continue anyway. Won with a beauty of a birdie on the 18th (2nd) hole!

we had same situation two weeks ago when we had 3 holes closed and lots of winter league matches scheduled.

club sent out email saying that as 5/6 ths of the course was open, all four players h/c's to be divided by 5/6ths to give you your 15 hole h/c, then 3/4 of difference off lowest h/c as usual.

as it turned out, rain came again overnight and course was closed all weekend so no matched were played on this basis.

Should that now be 90% - as per Congu changes from 1/1/2016?

Or does it depend on when the comp started?
