Matchplay holes won on the spin?

Played in the clubs individual matchplay last year as my first ever taste of competitive matchplay. Lost in the first round after hitting my tee shot OOB on the 18th at all square. However thoroughly enjoyed the experience so signed up again this year. It was my first round match last night and I found myself 3 down after 5 holes. I gave myself a good talking too and then went on to win the next 9 holes in a row to win 6 & 4.

What's your record for holes win in a row? Yes I know its a shameless look at me thread but I was chuffed to win

Well done on a fightback and to win 9 on the bounce is impressive. Have played in a lot of matchplay events but never won anything like that. Was 6 up after 6 if I remember in a semi final and thought I had better not loose this went on to win comfortably though. Good luck in the next round.

I was giving 11 strokes last night at Dunbar. Won five holes on the trot to win 4 n 3. Thank god, he was getting antoher two strokes at 17 and 18.

other side of the coin......

last year, playing off 8, I was level par through 10 holes, 6 up on a guy I was giving 12 or so shots to. Not getting ahead of myself, but thinking a couple of pars should do it....

pared 11th so did he with a shot, pared 12, so did he with a shot. 13th a 215yard par 3, I pared it, he chipped in for 2. both bogeyed index 1 14th hole, he had a shot, both bogeyed 15th for a half, both pared 16 he had a shot, I birdied the par 5 17th, so did he with a shot! all square. we halved the 18th. back up the first, halved in par, then he rolled in a 20+ footer on the 2nd (20th hole!) for birdie to win!
