Matchplay ans handicaps

Sorry if this is obvious but I'm not sure how this works.
If I play my son at matchplay (I'm off 24, him 45), do we take our individual net scores on each hole as per HC/SI, or do I give him 21 shots, (1 on each hole except SI 1-3 where I give him 2) and take the lowest gross as the winner?

You give him 21 shots. One shot an si 4 to 18 and two shots on si 1,2 and 3.
You then shake his hand congratulating him on tonking you!

Yeah, thats what I meant, maths never was my strong point, particularly after an afternoons drinking! And you'll almost certainly be right about the second bit!

You give him 21 shots. But match play is all about holes won, on holes 1-3 he will have 2 shots so to win any of those holes you will need to score at least 3 strokes fewer than your son. On all all other holes he will get one shot. The winner is the player who takes most holes.

Give him 21 shots and play it based on holes won and lost. Par doesn't really come into it. You can win a hole sometimes with a silly score as long as it is just one less than the opponent.
