Sorry if this is obvious but I'm not sure how this works.
If I play my son at matchplay (I'm off 24, him 45), do we take our individual net scores on each hole as per HC/SI, or do I give him 21 shots, (1 on each hole except SI 1-3 where I give him 2) and take the lowest gross as the winner?

Edited to hide drunken idiocy...

You give him 21 shots. One shot an si 4 to 18 and two shots on si 1,2 and 3.
You then shake his hand congratulating him on tonking you!

Yeah, thats what I meant, maths never was my strong point, particularly after an afternoons drinking! And you'll almost certainly be right about the second bit!:D

You give him 21 shots. But match play is all about holes won, on holes 1-3 he will have 2 shots so to win any of those holes you will need to score at least 3 strokes fewer than your son. On all all other holes he will get one shot. The winner is the player who takes most holes.
