Right, I think I know the answer to this already but want to clear it up.
Pairs betterball - Player has a 1 foot putt left, opposing team ask what the putt is for, and he responds "Birdie" so the opposing team give him the putt and they all pick up and walk to the next hole as they had a 15 footer for par.
On the way, one of the players on the opposing team questions whether it was actually a birdie putt and not a par putt. Player counts up and realises it was actually a par putt meaning that the other team actually had a putt for a half.
What's the ruling??
